Perkembangan Pendidikan di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB-B) Yayasan Rehabilitasi Tuna Rungu Wicara (YRTRW) di Surakarta Tahun 1981-2000

Abstract


The SLB-B YRTRW Surakarta is a school for the deaf child's first speech in Surakarta. Occurrences SLB-B YRTRW Surakarta provided fresh air for children with disabilities, speech impairment that does not get more attention and feel marginalized by society. After the school was openned in 1981, disabled children had received medical care and have a 9-years compulsory education as stipulated by the government. SLB-B School Surakarta YRTRW growing from year to year and forward.

Conclusions can be drawn that the School SLB-B YRTRW has an important role in shaping the character of their students, so that after they graduate can directly socialize with people and become an independent person and strong in the face of a different life. The role of the school SLB-B YRTRW Surakarta, among others: Intellectual and Academic Development, Improving the Development of Children's Emotions and Self-Acceptance, Increases Sense of Harmony and Solidarity, Enhance Moral and Religious, and Improve Your Self-Expression. This research used historical methode.
